About MiniCapital UG

Learn about our journey to democratize investment opportunities in Uganda

Our Story

MiniCapital UG was founded in 2015 by Emmanuel Okello, a former investment banker who noticed a significant gap in the Ugandan financial market. While working at one of Kampala's leading banks, Emmanuel observed that investment opportunities were primarily accessible only to wealthy individuals and large corporations, leaving ordinary Ugandans with limited options to grow their wealth.

Determined to change this narrative, Emmanuel partnered with Sarah Nakato, a financial educator, to create MiniCapital UG with a simple yet powerful mission: to make investment opportunities accessible to all Ugandans, regardless of their financial starting point.

We began with a small office in Nakasero, Kampala, focusing specifically on helping clients with modest capital—as little as 720,000 shillings—to build diversified portfolios. What started as a team of three has now grown to over 20 dedicated professionals serving more than 5,000 clients across Uganda.

Our approach challenged conventional investment wisdom in Uganda. Instead of requiring large initial capital, we developed innovative strategies that pooled resources from multiple small investors to access opportunities previously available only to the wealthy. This pioneering model has since been recognized by financial institutions across East Africa and has helped thousands of Ugandans begin their wealth-building journey.

Today, MiniCapital UG stands as Uganda's premier advisory firm for small-capital investors, with offices in Kampala, Jinja, and Mbarara. Our success stories include market vendors who have expanded to multiple locations, teachers who have built passive income streams, and young professionals who have achieved financial independence—all starting with modest investments of 720,000 to 1 million shillings.

Client Testimonials

What our clients say about us

I never thought I could become an investor with just 800,000 shillings. MiniCapital UG showed me how to start small and grow consistently. Three years later, my portfolio has grown to over 7 million shillings, allowing me to expand my tailoring business and send my children to better schools.

Florence Namukwaya

Florence Namukwaya

Small Business Owner, Kampala

As a teacher, I was skeptical about investing with my limited savings. MiniCapital UG provided clear guidance and realistic expectations. Their agricultural micro-investment program has given me a consistent 20% annual return, creating a second income stream that's now almost equal to my teaching salary.

Robert Ochen

Secondary School Teacher, Jinja

I started with exactly 720,000 shillings in their real estate microshares program. What impressed me most was the educational approach—they ensured I understood every aspect of my investment. Two years later, I've not only seen excellent returns but have gained the confidence to diversify into other investment opportunities.
